This section covers side projects that have reached a sufficient level of quality for public release. They range from game jams to more involved mods using various game engines. What unites them is that they’ve gone through extensive iteration cycles based on feedback received through playtesting. All projects featured on this page are fully released and playable.
Web browser prototypes
2018 – Present
My itch.io page contains a variety of prototypes created over the past three years. Starting in 2018, I began creating prototypes more consistently. I constrain myself to a browser-based platform as I believe it’s the best format for distributing a prototype for feedback.
Fallout Miami
March 2021 – Present
This is an ambitious Fallout 4 mod that aims to deliver a final product comparable to an official DLC. I’ve contributed level design for the following levels.
- FOMLuckyClamCasino01
- FOMSheridanHighSchool01
- FOMPoseidonenergyplant01
I provided technical assistance to help wrap up the following levels.
- FOMWSKarasHome01
- FOMTCTrafficanteResidence01
- FOMTCCenterSecurity01
Aren’t You Special
Jun 2020 – Feb 2021
This is a quest mod for Fallout 4 adapted from a twine prototype. The project features seven pre-war test chambers created to evaluate the S.P.E.C.I.A.L attributes of candidates for vault overseers. Each test chamber consists of a puzzle inspired by mid-twentieth-century psychological experiments conducted on animals.
Squad Game Mode Templates
August 2019 – August 2019
This project was designed to provide modders with a template they can use to implement various game modes onto a custom or existing levels.
Co-opoly
Sep 2018 – Oct 2019
Back in 2018, I participated in a game jam where we made a mod for Monopoly. My team made a cooperative board game in which players protest land assemblages and halt the construction of luxury condos. Working together, players bring activists to the city via public transport, then drive these activists (via car co-ops) to locations where they can build tiny homes.
Cambridge Peace Planters
Sep 2018 – Nov 2018
This Fallout 4 mod explores sunflowers as symbols of nuclear abolitionism in a post-nuclear world. In our reality, these plants leech radioactive materials out of the ground stowing the substance in their stalks, making them safe for disposal. In Fallout, they will make up the backbone of an optimistic vision that you can use symbols of the past to rectify its mistakes.
Dedicated to the Missouri PeacePlanters
Soviet Lumber Yard
November 2017- January 2018
After playing Company of Heroes 2, I was inspired to make a custom level to play with my friends. The map explored the use of a frozen river as a crossroad that players could destroy to impede their opponent’s progress across the map.
Holoscope
Mar 2016 – Mar 2018
A visual novel built in Unity using C#. This was my first attempt at creating a large project with five collaborators. Kat Brewster wrote about the game in Rock Paper Shotgun
Chasing Memories
June 2013 – Sep 2013
A quest mod for Skyrim that features custom content cosmetics that the player can craft. This project was made post-graduation to determine if I was capable of completing a game project under my own leadership, planning, and initiative.
